Football
Two teams try to kick the ball into the other team’s goal.
Cricket
Score runs with the bat, then bowl the other team out for fewer.
Basketball
Two teams score by shooting a ball through the other team’s hoop.
Volleyball
Two teams hit a ball over a high net and try to make it land on the other side.
Kabaddi
A tag game from India. A raider tags opponents and gets back without being caught.
Throwball
A net game from India. Throw the ball over the net, and they catch it and throw it back.
Field Hockey
Two teams use sticks to hit a small, hard ball into the other team’s goal.
Ice Hockey
Skate and use sticks to shoot a puck into the other team’s net.
Handball
Pass the ball by hand and throw it into the other team’s goal.
Water Polo
Swim and pass a ball to throw it into the other team’s goal.
Netball
Pass the ball up the court and shoot it through a high hoop. You can’t run with it.
Ultimate Frisbee
Pass a flying disc up the field and catch it in the end zone to score.
Rugby
Carry the ball over the try line or kick it through the posts, and tackle to win it back.
American Football
Move the ball up the field by running or passing it, and score by reaching the end zone.
Baseball
Hit a pitched ball, run the bases, and score by getting home.
Softball
Like baseball, with a bigger, softer ball and an underarm pitch.
Kho Kho
A chasing game from India. Chasers sit in a line and tag the runners who dodge around them.
Outdoor
Racket and court games, plus golf, archery and pétanque. Singles, doubles, or 1 vs 2 when someone is missing.
Badminton
Hit the shuttle over the net so it lands before they can send it back.
Pickleball
A paddle game on a small court, a mix of tennis, badminton and table tennis.

Hit the ball over the net and win the point when they can’t send it back.
Padel
A racket game in a small court with glass walls. The walls are part of the game.
Beach Volleyball
Volleyball on sand. Keep the ball off your side of the net.
