The basics
How to play Bowling
The casual version of the rules. log8 shows the same guide in the app, on the game's page.
- Players1 to 6 on a lane is common. Each person bowls alone.
- How to winHighest score after 10 frames wins.
- The official gameA perfect game is 12 strikes in a row and scores 300.
- Each frame you get two rolls to knock down all 10 pins.
- All 10 with the first roll is a strike. You get 10 plus your next two rolls.
- All 10 with two rolls is a spare. You get 10 plus your next roll.
- Otherwise you score the pins you knocked down.
- In the 10th frame, a strike or a spare gives you extra rolls.
- Don’t step over the foul line.

- Take the same steps every time.
- For a spare, aim across the lane at the pins that are left.

Logging a game in log8
- Pick the game and the playersChoose Bowling, then everyone who played. Friends without log8 can join as guests.
- Enter the resultRecord the finishing order, with times, strokes, points or kilos if you have them.
- The other players approveFriends on log8 get 48 hours to approve it, or tap Disagree if it is wrong. Guests count straight away. A result nobody answers closes without counting.
- Your record updatesOnce it is official it counts toward your head-to-head records, group board, badges and cups.

Yes. Bowling is one of the 72 built-in games. Record the finishing order, with times, strokes, points or kilos if you have them. The other players approve it, then it counts.

Do my friends need the app?
No. Add a friend as a guest and the game counts straight away. If they join log8 later, the games move to their account.
