Questions
Everything people ask about log8.
How results, approvals, groups, cups, guests, badges, privacy and the launch work. Anything else, write to admin@log8.in.
The basics
What is log8?
log8 is an app for Android and iPhone: the scorebook for the games you play with friends. Log a result, the other players approve it, and head-to-head records, group boards, cups and badges build themselves.
Which phones does log8 work on?
Android and iPhone. It is coming soon to Google Play and the App Store.
When can I download it?
log8 is in closed testing now. Write to social@log8.in for an invite, or follow us to hear the day it reaches the stores.
Is log8 free?
Yes. log8 is free to download and every personal stat and head-to-head record is free. There is no subscription.
Which games can I track?
72 built-in games in nine sections, from cricket, football and badminton to chess, carrom, UNO, FIFA and Valorant, and any game you make yourself.
Results and approvals
How does a result become official?
Someone who played logs it, and the other players approve it. Only then does it count.
What happens if nobody approves a result?
Nothing is approved by silence. A result nobody answers within 48 hours closes without counting.
What if a score is wrong?
Tap Disagree and it does not count. To fix an official result, ask for a change and the same players approve it.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. log8 keeps a result and sends it when you are back online, and it is never logged twice.
Friends, groups and cups
Do my friends need the app?
No. Add a friend as a guest and the game counts straight away. If they join log8 later with the email you gave, every game you logged with them moves to their account.
How do groups work?
A group has a board, a podium, activity and a chat. An admin adds members from their friends.
Can we run a tournament?
Yes. A cup can be a round robin or a knockout with 2 to 16 entries, with best-of series, and log8 crowns the champion.
Can I organise a game?
Yes. Send an invite with the game, time, place and number of spots. It fills up, and a waitlist takes over when it is full.
Badges and ambassadors
How many badges are there?
40, all earned from approved games, plus two the team gives.
How do I become a Campus Ambassador?
Write to social@log8.in with your college.
Privacy
Does log8 track me?
No. There is no advertising identifier, no analytics SDK and nothing shared for advertising. log8 does count how the app is used from its own records, without names, so we can improve it; the privacy policy explains exactly what is counted.
Are messages encrypted?
Yes, in transit and in storage. log8 holds the key, so it is not end-to-end encryption.
How do I delete my account?
In the app under Settings, or at log8.in/delete-account.
Be first on the scoreboard.
