Deleting your log8 account
You can delete your log8 account and its personal data at any time. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
If you still have the app
Profile → Settings → Delete account
Open log8, go to the Profile tab, open Settings and tap Delete account. You will be asked to confirm twice. If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm once more so we can revoke log8’s access to your Apple ID.
If you have uninstalled the app
Email admin@log8.in from the address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account. We will confirm the request and complete it within 30 days, usually much sooner. We may need to verify that the address is yours before we act.
Deletion is permanent. There is no undo. If you want a copy of your data, download it first in the app under Settings › Privacy › Download my data: once the account is deleted we can no longer give you one.
What is deleted straight away
- Your name, your email address and your log8 ID.
- Your profile photo, bio, date of birth, gender, height and weight.
- Your friends list, and any blocks you had set.
- Your direct (1:1) chats with other people. They are deleted for both of you, with their messages and photos.
- Your logged-in sessions on every device.
- Your notification device tokens, so we stop being able to reach your phone.
- The link to your Google or Apple account. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke log8’s access to your Apple ID.
- Your profile share link, which stops working.
- Cups you set up but never started are deleted.
- Your replies and invitations on upcoming invites. The upcoming invites you sent are cancelled, and if you were holding a spot, the next person on the waitlist takes it.
What stays, and why
Matches and tournaments you played in are not only yours. Deleting them would rewrite the records of everyone you played with, so the results stay, shown under the name “Deleted player”. The name you had is overwritten, not hidden.
These stay too, under the same name: comments you wrote, photos you added to shared matches, and messages you sent in group chats. Notifications and invite cards that held your name are rewritten to say Deleted player; a push notification already delivered to someone’s phone cannot be recalled.
Guests you created stay, with their own name and email, but are no longer linked to you. If a guest later signs up with their email, they can claim their games or start fresh.
Your photo, username, email and profile details are removed. Your profile can’t be searched for, messaged or added as a friend.
Places stay too. A place added to a match, tournament or past invite is part of that shared record, so it stays with it after you delete your account, including the map pin on a share link. If you want one removed, email admin@log8.in and we will remove it within 30 days. Your phone’s recent places are only on your phone and go when you uninstall the app. See your location and places.
Signing up again
You may sign up again later with the same Google or Apple account. It will be a brand new account with a new identity and none of the old history; the two are not connected and cannot be merged.
