Terms of use
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and log8 for using the app. Using the app means accepting them.
The service
log8 is a scorebook for recording games played between friends, with approvals, statistics, rooms, tournaments, invites, optional places and messaging. It is free to use and provided without warranty. We may change or withdraw features.
Purchases
Some optional extras, such as custom-game credits, can be bought inside the app. They are sold through the App Store or Google Play, which take the payment under their own terms; refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. A credit is tied to your account, has no cash value, and is lost if you delete the account.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- You sign in with Google or Apple. Keep that account secure: anyone with it can reach your log8 account.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anybody.
- You may delete your account at any time. See deleting your account.
What you may not do
- Post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes somebody else’s rights.
- Harass, impersonate, or repeatedly contact somebody who has blocked you.
- Upload anything you do not have the right to upload, including photos of people who have not agreed to it.
- Falsify results in order to mislead, or automate, scrape or attack the service.
Content, moderation and reporting
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us the licence needed to store it and show it to the people the app shows it to, and nothing more.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on log8. Photos are scanned automatically and unsafe images are removed. From inside the app you can report a message in a room or in a direct conversation, a photo, note or comment on a match, or a person, and block anybody. We review every report: content that breaks these terms is removed and the account that posted it may be suspended or closed. Direct messages are encrypted and we do not read them, except the messages in a conversation that somebody reports, which we read to act on the report; blocking and reporting are the controls there. The one exception is an invite sent in a direct message: its game, time, place and note are stored where we can read them so people can be notified.
Other people’s records
A match belongs to everyone who played it. When you delete your account your shared history, including any place added to it, remains visible to those people, shown under the name “Deleted player”. That is a deliberate part of how the service works and you accept it by using log8.
Liability
log8 is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data or records. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
You may stop using log8 and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if we stop offering the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
