The basics
How to play Rugby
The casual version of the rules. log8 shows the same guide in the app, on the game's page.
- Players15 a side in union, 13 in league and 7 in sevens.
- How to winScore more points than the other team by the end.
- The official gameWorld Rugby writes the rules. A match is two halves of 40 minutes. Sevens halves are 7 minutes.
- How groups differRugby league has 13 a side, six tackles and 4 points for a try. Touch and tag rugby have no tackling. Agree before you start.
- A try is 5 points. Touch the ball down over their try line. A kick at goal after it adds 2.
- A penalty kick or a drop goal is 3 points.
- Pass the ball sideways or backwards only. You can kick it forward.
- Tackle below the shoulders and bring the player to the ground.
- A tackled player must let go of the ball. Everyone else must stay on their feet and join from behind it.
- Stay behind the ball. Ahead of it, you are offside.

- Keep your head up and talk to the players around you.
- Run straight at the defender, then pass.
- Stay low in the tackle and wrap your arms.
- Support the ball carrier. Always be close.

- The other players approveFriends on log8 get 48 hours to approve it, or tap Disagree if it is wrong. Guests count straight away. A result nobody answers closes without counting.
- Your record updatesOnce it is official it counts toward your head-to-head records, group board, badges and cups.
