- Play 2v2. Anything from 1v1 up to 4v4 works, and uneven sides count too.
- Record who won, or the score of each set, like 21 to 17 and 21 to 19.
- No draws.
The basics
How to play Beach Volleyball
The casual version of the rules. log8 shows the same guide in the app, on the game's page.
- Players2 a side. Casual games sometimes use 3 or 4.
- How to winWin 2 sets out of 3. The first two sets go to 21 and the third to 15. You must win by 2.
- The official gameFIVB writes the rules. The court is 16 by 8 metres.
- How groups differCasual games often play one set to 21, or to 15. Agree before you start.
- Every rally wins a point, whoever served.
- Serve from behind the back line. The ball must clear the net.
- Your team gets up to 3 touches to send it back over.
- You can’t catch, hold or throw the ball.
- The same player can’t touch it twice in a row, except after a block.
- Swap sides every 7 points in the first two sets, and every 5 in the third.

- Call “mine” early so you don’t both go for it.
- Serve into the gap between them.
- Check the wind and the sun before the first serve.
- Watch the hitter’s arm to guess where the ball is going.

- Enter the resultRecord the winner, or the score of every set, game, frame or board.
- The other players approveFriends on log8 get 48 hours to approve it, or tap Disagree if it is wrong. Guests count straight away. A result nobody answers closes without counting.
- Your record updatesOnce it is official it counts toward your head-to-head records, group board, badges and cups.
