- Players9 a side in the field, or 10 in slow pitch. Casual games use whoever turns up.

- The official gameThe WBSC governs softball. A game is 7 innings.
- How groups differSlow pitch has 10 fielders, an arcing pitch and no stealing. Many groups play co-ed. Agree before you start.
- It works like baseball. Hit, run the bases and score at home plate.
- The pitcher throws underarm. Fast pitch comes in hard. Slow pitch arcs in softly.
- Three outs end a half inning. Then the teams swap.
- Fielders get a runner out by tagging them or the base.
- Runners can’t leave the base until the ball leaves the pitcher’s hand.
- A home run is a hit over the fence. The batter and every runner on base score.

- Enter the resultRecord the winner or a draw, with the score if you kept it.
- The other players approveFriends on log8 get 48 hours to approve it, or tap Disagree if it is wrong. Guests count straight away. A result nobody answers closes without counting.
- Your record updatesOnce it is official it counts toward your head-to-head records, group board, badges and cups.
