Scoring formats

Results that fit the game you played.

log8 does not force every game into a score. Each of the 72 games uses the result format it is actually played with, from sets and frames to knockouts, lap times and finishing order.

How it works

Nine ways a result can look

  1. Sets, games, frames and boardsBadminton, tennis, padel, table tennis, squash, snooker, darts, carrom and volleyball. Winner only, or every set's score.
  2. A score, if you want oneFootball, FIFA, basketball, hockey, kabaddi and most team sports: winner or draw, score optional.
  3. RunsCricket: winner or draw, each side's runs optional, uneven sides allowed.
  4. Placings and marksRaces, golf, bowling, archery, card and board games: the full finishing order, with times, strokes, kilos or distance where the game has them.
  5. How the bout endedBoxing, MMA, wrestling, judo, karate, taekwondo, kickboxing and fencing: KO, TKO, submission, pin, points or decision, and the round.
  6. Winner or drawChess, checkers and quick games like rock paper scissors and tic tac toe.

Questions

Results that fit the game: questions

Can I log only the winner?

Yes, for most games. The score, sets, times and other marks are optional wherever the game allows it.

Does log8 keep personal bests?

Yes, for games that record a mark, such as running, swimming, cycling and weightlifting.

Which games allow a draw?

Games that can end level, such as football, cricket, chess and combat sports. Racket sports and pool always have a winner.
