72 games, your photos, and results that fit the game
log8 nearly doubled its games this week. Here is everything new in the test build, from boxing bouts and 5k times to a home for every photo your crew has posted.
35 new games, 72 in all
The game picker has three new sections, Team Sports, Combat, and Races & Records, and some new names in the old ones:
- Racket and court. Tennis, padel, beach volleyball and throwball.
- Team sports. Field hockey, ice hockey, handball, water polo, netball, ultimate frisbee, rugby, American football, baseball, softball and kho kho.
- Combat. Boxing, kickboxing, MMA, wrestling, judo, taekwondo, karate and fencing.
- Target games. Golf, mini golf, archery, shooting and pétanque.
- Races and records. Running, swimming, cycling, rowing, go-karting, weightlifting, and jumps & throws.
Every new game has its own art in light and dark, and a short how-to-play guide: the casual rules, and how log8 scores it.
Results that fit the game
A boxing match is not a FIFA score, so log8 no longer pretends it is.
- Bouts ask who won, or whether it was a draw, then how it ended and in which round. Judo has golden score, and points are there if you kept them. The result reads the way you would say it: “Won by KO · R3”.
- Races and records take places, plus a mark for each player if you kept one: a time, a distance, a weight, strokes or points. With marks, log8 puts the best first and only asks for places when there is a tie, and it keeps your personal bests on your profile.
- Tennis, padel, beach volleyball and throwball are scored in sets.
Quick Log’s Type it keeps up. It knows every new game by name, understands “won by KO in round 3” and a time like 22:14, and its examples now use your friends’ names.
Your photos, in one place
Profile has a new Your photos row. It opens every match and cup photo you can see, grouped by month, with All and Uploaded by me, and filters for type, game and group. Tap a photo to swipe through the rest, save it, or jump to the match or cup it came from.
Share a photo anywhere
Every photo viewer now has a share button. Send the photo to another app, or straight into one of your log8 group chats. Photos in a chat open full screen too, with the same share and save.
Direct chats stay text only, so everything in them stays encrypted in storage.
A clearer match page
- While a vote is open there is one approval card: who has approved, who hasn’t, and what Approve does. Approve and Disagree stay pinned for the people who still need to answer.
- The winner gets a trophy badge, and the details fold into one row once a result is official, so reactions and the moment come first.
- Cups get a hero with their progress while they run, and a champion when they finish.
Smaller things
- A withdrawn result now opens the match it was about, and clears from your inbox once you have seen it.
- The bell’s dot clears once you have looked at your updates.
- Match and cup pages have floating buttons over their heroes, and lists have bars that scroll away.
What’s next
log8 is still in closed testing on Android and iPhone. We will keep posting what changes here, and the day the store listings go live. For an invite to the test, email social@log8.in and tell us which phone you use.
See you on the scoreboard.
